How to use

• View a user's profile by visiting /handle (e.g., @exerinity.com or @stephenking.bsky.app).
• View a profile by DID (e.g., /did:plc:4ol7tajbdx5ugq2zblpmraf2).
• Check the feed at /feed

How it works

It's a Cloudflare Worker that renders everything server-side just for you. I don't really know how to explain it in words.

Known issues

• Reposts are not filtered, so the "view on Bluesky" link will not work and give you a 404
• No video playback, just thumbnails
• The feed only shows 100 (I am not sure how to load more without A: JavaScript or B: smashing the API with 500 requests)

Why?

Bluesky's web app will not work at all unless you have JavaScript enabled. This app is for low end devices, privacy freaks, bots & scrapers, and people who just like simplicity. I guess it could also be used to circumvent censorship??

This is a read only app, and everything is anonymous. You cannot log in, and logging in will never be added.

Redsky is inspired by Invidious and Nitter, which are similar projects for YouTube and Twitter. The key distinction: this has no JS at all.

Where did the name "Redsky" come from?

Most on-and-off switches show green for on and red for off. The on-and-off switch in this scenario applies to JavaScript; which is off. Also, red is the opposite of blue. Redsky is clearly a play on Bluesky.
