Think about all of the political staffers who were involved in all the aspects of coordinating this man's presence at Cabinet. Kevin Roberts' presence might not feel as threatening to Mark Carney, but this was a workplace-poisoning, hostile act for many of his ministers and staff.

Any talk of this being a strategic "know thy enemy" thing is missing some very important points: 1) info would flow in both directions, thereby helping Trump, 2) nothing this guy says can be trusted, 3) indirectly normalizing this guy's agenda like this is already a massive loss.
If cabinet is hoping the guy who wrote the fascist playbook will give advice on stopping fascism then we are in trouble. Adorno reminds us that clever people were the first to be suckered by the fascist playbook because they thought they could outsmart it. There is nothing hidden in their plan.
To be clear, the focus of the meeting is not stopping fascism. The topic is "establishing a new economic and security relationship with the U.S." So I think it's more accurate to say the guy who wrote the fascist playbook is offering advice on submitting to fascism.

I grew up on a dairy farm in Canada and we drank milk straight from the cow without boiling it. Canada has stringent hygiene practices and milk is tested before it leaves the farm - if any contaminates are present, the whole tank goes down the drain. That said, I would never drink raw milk now!
