The firing of the CDC’s director and subsequent resignations of CDC officials will have a direct impact on children’s health. AAP will continue to serve as a trusted partner for pediatricians and parents, sharing scientific recommendations that put the health and wellbeing of children first.

For academic programming cuts, there should always be early, careful, & meaningful faculty involvement. It is primarily the responsibility of the faculty—who have the subject matter expertise & front-line experience— to determine if/where programs reductions should be made. 4/

The claim of financial necessity is weak. Major cuts are appropriate ONLY when a severe financial crisis fundamentally compromises an institution’s academic integrity & cannot be alleviated by less drastic means. An institution’s desire to shift priorities is not the same as a fiscal crisis. 2/

If anyone is curious about the current list of search terms being used by right wing activist organizations to harass university professors, here's a public records request I received today from Mike Howell of the Heritage Foundation. Not intimidating or meant to curtail by my speech at all, right?
Here we see the steps started in TX that will spread to other states. These right-wing state systems serve as models and promote their efforts to dismantle faculty academic freedoms and participation in governance through nationwide conferences for administrators and politicians.
