Beyond gerrymandering, it’s easy to peacock when you know the liberal elite/establishment donor class will stand behind you. HE CAN TALK IN ALL CAPS while having quiet conversations with donors that that aren’t nearly as progressive as we need or deserve.

The outcome of today’s hearing is a win for Home Rule and upholds the District’s right to operate its own local police force. The Court recognized that it was clearly unlawful for the Administration to try to seize control of MPD. Chief Smith and Mayor Bowser rightfully remain in command of MPD.

Focusing on my favorite children’s book this week because idk if I can take any more political news atm. This book “Ferdinand the Fox’s First Summer” is one of my favorites, primarily bc he looks just like my pup (that I lost in March). But as nonfiction children’s books go, this is a gem.

I know you’re right but man, that just kills me. Any stock gains right now are purely speculative and/or a direct result of Turmp shakedowns. It’s clearly being inflated so hedge fund/private equity (those playing in the market) can take gains before the crash (that they’ll inevitable cause).

I am curious, if you have—or want to share—context about something I’ve seen with my friends in the Black community. There’s a sense of “yeah she’s been horrible but she’s still your momma” and it’s weird bc it seems like white people are quicker to cut off. I’ve never been able to understand why.

Been over four years for me. I’ve forgiven her years ago but I also believe strongly you can love people from a distance. In many ways, she’s been unkind and abusive, and I don’t have to sink with her. I’m not mad, I just know my life is more peaceful.

It’s bothering me that I can’t fit into my bio that the book I’m reading was written by Bobby Seale, a leading Black Panther organizer in the 60’s. Jfc did federal courts decimate due process & the entire “justice” system in the way they treated him & so many Black Panthers & anti-war advocates.
