Qimir wears it like a helmet. It's like the sensory deprivation pieces Jedi use in the Temple. It falls apart in the show though, when it's struck twice with an elbow. Qimir is shown having to weld it back together later
cortosis is incredibly brittle and rare in its pure form. even if you found some, it would only be useful against lightsabers. strengthening it with another ore would presumably just make it block lightsabers, not disable them. that's how it worked in the EU anyway
I don't know how checked in Genndy is to Asajj's latest stories and characterization, but I'd be pleased if he ever did a Visions short. Studio la Cachette worked with him before and they've done a wonderful short for season 2 already
I know it isn't saying a lot, but it's surprising to me Genndy's even implying he'd be interested in doing a Star War again. I figured he'd still be too busy with his own projects, and Paul Rudish doing designs again would be the next best thing
I don't think there were great chances of that though. Even if Abrams had a better rep for endings, creating and producing a whole new conclusion film in less than two years was a mess waiting to happen

They've done adaptations of Seven Samurai across three different mediums over the past 50 years. Diversifying sources of inspiration is good, but I think being less self-referential is the main thing. Altho this is also the franchise that often utilizes visual and narrative parallels
