I do think far cry regardless of the quality of the game will always have some of the strongest villains, and strongest commentary on just how susceptible people are to losing their morality when backed into a corner of any game out there
Dont get me wrong, they are not good people by any metric but the games do such a good job showing you that theyve essentially been beaten into submission and were sorta funneled into their roles as villains by means largely out of their control, theyre just very captivating
I have such a strange fascination with Far Cry games and how they always make me like their villains, barring 6 as im just now getting to it so i havent experienced the villain, Vaas, the Seed Family, Pagan Min, even to an extent The Jackal, are all villains i cant help but empathize with them

I mean SH1's combat wasnt even fun it was just stun locking enemies to death which... makes the game more goofy than scary, SH1 was good but it definitely had glaring flaws that made the game a worse horror game and its "combat" was one of them
