I think many who grew up learning from Fred Rogers are better for it. Like you, I try to live up to his ideal each day, but also in my work in the mental health field see a great need for his message. Too many people are struggling because they don’t know how to cope.

Shouldn’t we be one country, not one “team MAGA”? Elected officials may have only been put into office by some, but are supposed to represent ALL the citizens. Guess asking that may be too much for some who are only fixated on themselves & their own inflated ego.
There are something about day lilies in knowing the flower has spent a season growing to bloom for just one day that I relate to. It gives me strength to keep working hard even though it’s not easy, because one day I things will get better.

And likely 25% or more that support this bill don’t understand how it will impact them. The other 3% are either wealthy & are thrilled about their tax breaks, are among those who attacked the Capital, or so involved in the MAGA cult they’ll support anything they put forward.

I feel the same. Have an American flag that I usually hang out for the 4th of July, but can’t this year. It feels wrong to be proud to be an American when I’m ashamed of how those leading this country are doing to ruin everything that was great about this country.

It is obscene to give tax breaks to the top 1% by throwing more than 16 million people off health care, cutting nutrition for hungry kids and making it harder for working class young people to go to college. That is exactly what Trump's budget reconciliation bill does.
As with everything this administration does, actions without consideration of consequences.

I just spoke to a graduate student who will be graduating next year. The student WAS interested in government work, but is hesitant to look for jobs there now because of Trump’s policies toward workers. Is this how we make America great, by having the best/brightest no longer working for us?
I thought this parade was to celebrate the army, not Trump! Why shouldn’t the soldiers be waving & having fun?
