This year I finally said no. Threatened to for years, but this time I refused. I told D he was in charge and I was NOT messing around. I was tired of all of it and after 20 years he was going to do it his damn self. I was proud I stood strong. SO WHY DO I FEEL LIKE A FAILURE?
But the gifts part for me is always been a horror show. I get stressed, feel less than, all the bad stuff. “Why don’t I know what would be perfect, etc.” My kids are grown ass adults and don’t need a pile of gifts under the tree.
This year, I decided to finally put my foot down about Christmas. See what most people don’t know about me is that I actually hate holidays. I hate the entire process of giftgiving - and gift receiving quite frankly. I love enjoying time with family and having great meals, and being with folks.
I’m so tired of the endless tasks.. the always “to do” list.. and feeling the pressure to keep up. When is it that life slows down?
