One of the most useful things I've learnt whilst studying the various literary resurrections of King Arthur is Svetlana Boym's concept of restorative nostalgia vs. reflective nostalgia. One of which is a harmful fantasy, yearning to restore or return to a prelapsarian past that never really existed.

Today's writing includes responding to copy edits. Bracing myself to deal with a string of my own small-scale yet wince-inducing mistakes, made that little bit more painful because I didn't spot them but someone else did.
