Agreed entirely. A lot of the guys people talk about as “success stories” have been under performing in the majors. Very high ceiling and extremely obvious flaws that the team has not figured out how to correct.

This Orioles team really needs new coaches, a new manager, new GM…. And they all really need to spend time working on their defense during the off season.
When Drew and I went to the Red Sox/Pirates game the defense in that game was so damn good, even with the Pirates making one oopsie, that it was notable. It was really nice watching such good defense. It was great baseball. Also made it really obvious how bad the Orioles defense is.
I see Elias defenders talk about how he’s great at “drafting and development”. If that’s true, why does this team have some of the worst defense I’ve ever seen? It’s been an issue all. season. It almost feels as though their MiLB affiliates are entirely focused on offense and defense is secondary.
This is what I keep saying to people defending the way Elias handled this season. Why would players like Gunnar Henderson want to sign extensions after being put in situations like this? How is what we’re seeing on the field right now helping anyone’s development vs hurting it?

No, they always do this when they play against the Giants. One team wears Orange and the other wears black one game, the next game they swap and the other team wears orange and the other wears black, then they swap again. They never wear road greys when they play each other.
ahh. It’s the Joe Davis and John Smoltz broadcasts I really can’t stand. I know a lot of people hate Smoltz, and I don’t like him either, but my big problem is with Joe Davis who I find pretty much unwatchable.
