Nothing? NOTHING, TRA LA LAAA?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Through a window.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I've had five girlfriends called Sarah. Yeah, that IS a bit weird I guess.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh it's good. Forcing myself to stop otherwise we'd be looking at an all nighter.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
What's Nate The Hate saying about it?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
And PS5, and Xbox... Imagine the GTA VI release...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Ah ok, I just saw your own reply referencing that... 🤦🏻
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I must admit I glanced at that and thought you'd set up an indoor grow tent 😆
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I bought this for Switch for a tenner years back and still haven't got round to it. I think I played about 30 minutes but never went back. I keep meaning to...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Is there a release date yet?? I've got every one of the 'interactive timeline' releases so far and they're so good, even for series I have no massive love for (like Mortal Kombat!) Will still be buying this.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh yeah, I see your point. Yes I doubt anyone already frozen is going to be making a comeback.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Try marmite and bacon. It's good.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I don't know, it might be possible one day. I don't imagine stone age people ever thought we'd go to the moon.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
IT'S THUNDERING AND LIGHTNINGING! I FUCKING LOVE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING! ⛈️ ⚡
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Interestingly, none of the Carry On films are in my top ten 'films that might be too long if they weren't brilliant' list.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Hot damn, you're right! God knows why that popped in to my head yesterday. Just looked at the Wiki, it's definitely that, thanks!
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
And then empty them over your laptop.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
Can anyone remember an 80s or 90s film where a WW2 pilot (I think) either accidentally ends up in the future or gets frozen in time and emerges in present day? I'm sure I didn't imagine it but can't find anything online at all (it's not an episode of Amazing Stories, or Biggles).
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Agree to disagree. Some of my favourites are well over two hours and don't feel bloated at all. It's not about the length, it's how you use it. Innuendo entirely unintentional.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
There's a movie idea in here somewhere about vampires and the only way to keep them at bay is with flags and bunting and the country goes flag crazy. I've not thought it all through yet. Plus I don't make movies. But still.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
There are plenty of incredible films over two hours long. That argument is nonsense.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I might be miles wide of the mark here, but I'm not sure turning the seats in to toilets was a serious proposition.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
You have two options here. The first is to exercise some personal restraint. There isn't actually a second option. Do you need to drink constantly as if you're on a drip at work and home, or do you sometimes find you might be able to go two, maybe even three hours without a drink?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
So he can watch his still beating heart be donated to someone who needs it more.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
If it's much cheaper why do so many shit corner shops refuse card transactions under a fiver and claim every card transaction costs them money?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Fuck off, mate.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I like to watch it now and then and love the World Cup/Euros. Would struggle to name a single player for the club I loosely 'support' and the minute people start talking about specific players, transfers or tactics, I'm out. Unless it's England at the World Cup. Then I'm Sir Alf, reincarnate.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Still seething that they randomly locked the mini crossword behind the paywall.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Also mainly so they can see how hard we fucking work and are not just moaning about nothing.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
That is unfortunate. I will let their landlord know in the morning.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I got my phone out to record it, and, it instantly stopped. So there. That's my story of what happened today.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I thought maybe one of the children was hiding behind it and pushing and pulling it but I looked and nobody was, they were all still in the kitchen down the hallway. I don't believe in ghosts. It's all absolute nonsense, but it was so weird. No idea what was causing it! 🤔
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
All of a sudden the door to the living room started opening and closing. Not like blowing in the wind, literally going from fully shut to fully open, back and forth. Even clicking in to the door latch. Did it about ten times in all.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I was sitting in the living room on my own waiting for the children to finish eating, literally nobody else in there, they were all in the kitchen with mum. Maybe about five minutes I was waiting in all.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
Right. I don't believe in ghosts, in fact it's not even about believing in ghosts, they objectively do not exist. But here... This really crazy thing happened earlier on an assessment visit...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
This is actually a really cool idea.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I did not know you had a new book coming out! (Left Twitter ages back, only just realised you were over here too). Great news!
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
That's not an opinion.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I suppose it depends entirely on how you're holding the phone and where you are in proximity to the plug socket. I'm literally sat in my car right now with my phone plugged in and the exact opposite applies 🤷
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
This makes no sense at all, Ken. If the cable is coming out the top whilst using the phone then there's far less risk of the cable bending against you whilst you use the phone. As it is now, the cable normally gets bent around the phone, away from you. Seems fairly logical to me.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
It wouldn't put more strain on their cables. It would put less, if anything.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Well I must admit I'm still using pre-made dough, the Pizza Express brand. Each pack is £1.90 and makes two bases, but you still have to knead it and stretch it etc. I want to try making my own, this was only the fourth time using the outdoor oven, but own dough is my next goal...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
Raised crust, cheese bubbles, perfect charring... Yeah I'm getting preeeeeetty good at making pizza, and I'll punch anyone on the nose who says I'm not.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
No St. George flags in the window. Low tolerance for bigotry. Friendly atmosphere. Inclusive. You know. All the usual woke™ stuff.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
That's exactly what I thought when I got to it 😆
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah, no dip switch support. Neo Geo games didn't have them at a hardware level, but Evercade are 'supposedly' working on something. Given how long it took for dip switch support I'm not holding my breath. I wasn't interested in Roguecraft but seen too many people saying it's great now...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh the rest of the game is just as long as the first section. And there's a third section... Took me around 15-18 hours in total. There are some really fun exploits in the second and third sections, can win battles with one card a lot of the time.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Yeah never understood this. I'd wish everything on my worst enemy.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Wow, just discovered a new channel to watch, thanks! Always cool to find an established channel you've never heard of with loads of stuff to watch!
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Nooooo! I was exactly the same, but stick with it. It's still a lot of fun... I was up and down on this game like no other I've played, but glad I played it all the way through (the first section is the best though, there's no denying).
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
The Tempest layer (900) in Donkey Kong Bananza is absolutely the worst layer in the game (so far). Good god, it's tedious and just not fun to play. Absolute slog getting through this one.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
They can't. You have to be 18+ regardless.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
What's stopping you?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I'd be more than happy with a handheld PS4 to be honest.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Less rumours, more action.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
He'd not heard of the 4 man draft? Games court? You don't need those kind of people in your life, Samuel.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I think the Namco carts did randomly start working on the VS recently - whether they still do, not sure.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Yikes.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
How do you get mugged for 30 grand?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Save your PDF bank statements, open them in Word, change it to whatever you like, print. Easy.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I'll deliver my oft-repeated story when given half a chance. Once in Tesco I saw a child pick up a book and ask their mum for it. The mum replied: "FIVE QUID!?! I'M NOT PAYING THAT FOR A BOOK!! YOU CAN GET A DVD FOR THAT!!" So yes. I concur. Humanity is fucked.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Fuck yeah! Taking credit for this 👀 you're welcome, everyone.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
British Bulldog's first ever televised wrestling match, aged 15. Literal children in the ring, incredible 😆 youtu.be/8NaAznfHdsk
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I've had that for over 30 years 😐
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Did you *have* to tell the police you'd done a shit whilst he was lying there?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Same here, I've had 6p in a HSBC savings account for over 20 years now. I actually tried to transfer some money to it recently and they wouldn't let me, said it was a dead account. I want my 6p.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Nice. Nice looking book for the shelf, too!
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
He also has a stutter. Your audio player is not malfunctioning.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
If you've never seen or heard anything about him, just check some out. Described by Stewart Lee as the greatest stand up of all time, his work transcends the medium, as wanky as that sounds. Have a look on Bandcamp, download the cheapest show, and enjoy.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
This year he launched a subscription service called An Accumulation Of Failure. For all intents and purposes, a Patreon, at £5 a month. New stuff is uploaded monthly and features audio/video shows never previously available anywhere except on a live stage. www.danielkitson.com/an-accumulat...
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
For some time the only place to get his stuff was via Bandcamp. There are a few shows on there available at very low costs, and I urge you to check out The Ballad Of Roger And Grace, a story collaboration with Gavin Osborn. It's incredible, but they all are. danielkitson.bandcamp.com
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
Daniel Kitson: A Thread. Daniel Kitson is a stand up comedian, and in that field, he is peerless. But he is also a masterful storyteller and some of his best shows are story shows. He appeared in Phoenix Nights; a decision he regrets and has not a single good word to say about Peter Kay.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Interesting, I'd assumed they'd be bigger AND cheaper.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
I don't normally watch WWE Raw, but had a look at this week's just because it was filmed in Birmingham up the road. The British crowd is hilarious, literally singing like a football crowd and chanting "YOU FAT BASTARD, YOU FAT BASTARD" 😆 Way livelier than the usual US crowd.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social)
Hey, is Disco Elysium very replayable? I loved my first play through a couple of years ago and been thinking about a second go, but feel like I did pretty much every side quest available to me the first time round. I can't see how it would change much.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
The Last Of Us season 3?
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
They're not unrealistic in Australia, though. Everyone has big houses there. Or they do on Neighbours, anyway.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely livid they've now locked the mini crossword behind the paywall, mind.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Absolutely not. Ever.

Could you confirm whether the NeoGeo cart has dip switch support or not? Thanks :)
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Fuck me, what a wanker 🤣 blocking this prick.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Cool, been wanting to play Psychonauts 2 and cancelled my Gamepass ages ago.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Agreed. My thing is buying an album and you might not like it much at first but you kept listening because you'd bought it and it eventually became a real favourite. Now a band releases an album I don't immediately love so just don't listen to it again. And I realise that's on me (and most people).
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Ok, perhaps that's it.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
Strange thing to get worked up about mate. Fine to disagree about stuff.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I've never been accused of being a snob 🤣 I drink lager, I don't drink spirits, rarely drink wine, have no interest in IPAs or bitter - I'm saying that all lager basically tastes the same to me. Sorry if that offended you, I guess 🤷
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
When my sister got married at the point where they asked that, I tickled my then 3 year old son, sitting on my lap. He screamed out and everyone turned and looked whilst I told him to shush.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
I am. You have to. If you don't, they'll get you.
Alex⁷⁹ (@alex79.bsky.social) reply parent
All lager basically tastes the same. Unless it's a stronger one, which tastes even worse. I had a pint of Bones recently which might be the only actually nice lager I've ever tasted.
