Do you have a source, because those are useful facts (the former more than the latter, given the HRA means human rights cases are mostly heard in UK courts - I think)

I think the greatest achievement of the post war period was ending the idea "Great Nations" were how we create progress. The focus on a rules based system of international interaction is our greatest achievement, but overlooked & it's unravelling is bringing about a return to conflict & tensions

It's well-past time the EU acted on Hungary. It needs to be made clear that there is a choice to be made by countries of being in the orbit of the EU, or in the orbit of authoritarians like Putin or Trump. We need to show the benefits of international relations, not have them undermined.

I remember hearing about how the Kinder Transport programme was passed in parliament. Apparently Britain was so anti-asylum due, in part, to the bile in British papers that children were the only group politicians thought the public would find acceptable to take in.

To see these far-right invaders desecrating the city I love & grew up in, a city that was always an incredible, tolerant, diverse & welcoming melting pot of different people, makes me incredibly angry.

Sadly I find podcasts to be more informative than the news these days. I wish it wasn't so, but there we are.

This happened in full view of Sky News cameras and a bunch of police just standing there. Why is THIS not on the news all day? Why don't we show people what these thugs are turning the country into? I could only find it on the far right TikTok page that proudly boasted about the incident. SHARE!

Every politician in the land should read this piece, and the sane ones need to stand up against this shit. The RefUKkers should be ashamed, and if they're not we should shame them. Well done Hannah 💛

But that shouldn't stop people pointing out the irony of his position on shootings & their acceptance. It's worth pointing this out *because* his shooting was unacceptable & that people who share his position should use this to consider carefully their own views.

This is SUCH a good song. I was introduced to it via the "A Life Less Ordinary" soundtrack. Such a good soundtrack & it's still one of my favourite films.

Releasing the Epstein files is a hostile action against them... so I guess that means what's in the files must be damaging to them. Got it.

Only thing I disagree with is towards the end, where you say "at least one group of powerful elites with an abiding belief that their money and power make them invincible." I'm not sure that's right. I think they know the systems we live in mean their money & power *do* make them (near) invincible

I am running the London Parks Half Marathon for SANDS in memory of our first son Olly who died at 9 months in 2012. Just did my first 7 mile run. More than half of the way there! SANDS has been a wonderful support. Anything you can give will be welcome. Thanks. www.justgiving.com/page/mark-th...

As a bonus one of the artists in the collaboration goes by Dizraeli, and is still making great music & railing against our descent in to madness. youtu.be/ExkqhW9iRsg?...

The concept is basically a "discussion" about liberalism & socialism, set against the backdrop of a UK gone full authoritarian. It's one of my favourite albums for the music as much as the content.
