Personally at that size, I would hand sew it. Get a like 10" embroidery hoop and work in sections. Do a bit of trial and error to find a stitch you like the look of and then you're good to go! I would probably use a split stitch, it's very forgiving. cutesycrafts.com/embroidery-s...
You could hand sew this, but it would all depend on how large is is. It would just take time. And some practice if you haven't embroidered before. A sewing machine would be faster, but again you'd need practice to get the lines even and smooth.
