In my wife’s hometown there was a backroad that people used all the time to get home from the bars. Adding small rotaries every little bit certainly kept the DUI crashes much lower speed. Rideshare would be better, but at least. 20 mph wreck is much more survivable
The bottom of one of two bridges onto the main vacation spot for all of New England is NOT a huddle use of rotaries.
People gripe about rotaries (and they have a point sometimes) but in secondary roads and non arterials they are a great traffic calming tool and if they were in wider use, more people would know how to drive through them.
