In retrospect the Constitutional crisis started in the Supreme Court w Bush v Gore, in Congress with McConnell’s refusal to take up Garland’s nomination and the Senate’s failure to convict Trump, and in the Executive Branch with Trump’s first inauguration.

:-(. More friction. That’s a retained one-way-ratchet ownership interest where artists get to share in the gains and even profit from losses but never share in losses. I’d rather see artworks inalienable and let artists grant only leases to the art. Let the lease value rise or fall.

I believe that allowing churches to keep charitable status while expressly endorsing candidates is so that billionaires and other GOP supporters can turn churches into PACs and deduct their political contributions as charitable donations. I am pretty sure the GOP has wanted that for a long time.

I grieve for all affected by the Texas floods. I’ve noted that almost all references to Camp Mystic call it a “Christian summer camp.” Why do reporters or editors describe it that way? Does the Christian aspect matter? Are we supposed to care more? Or feel irony that God “allowed” the disaster?
