Today is a Day of Mourning in Kyiv and the region. On the night of 28 August, Russia's massive strike on the capital claimed at least 23 lives, including four children. Over 50 people were injured, and some remain missing. More than 200 buildings across the city were damaged.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
At least 220,000 Russian men aged 18–55 have been confirmed killed in the war against Ukraine, according to inheritance records and obituaries. That’s only those identified by name—real losses are higher. A record was seen in Nov 2024: ~3,000 deaths/week. #StopRussia
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
This is what Russia chooses: killing children and destroying lives. Each hesitation to impose sanctions, each delayed decision on air defence, costs Ukraine lives. The world cannot look away. Russia must be held accountable for every strike, every life lost, every child murdered.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
A shopping centre and over 20 residential buildings across the city were hit. Rescuers are still clearing the rubble from residential buildings, searching for people trapped underneath.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
Russia's missiles and drones struck Kyiv again last night. At least 12 people were killed, including three children aged 2, 14 and 17. Another 48 people were injured.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social) reply parent
The strikes hit more than 20 sites across the capital, including residential buildings, a shopping centre, and the offices of Ukrainian and international organisations — such as the EU Delegation and the British Council.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
The death toll has risen to 14 people, including three children. 38 more were injured. Tomorrow, 29 August, will be a Day of Mourning in Kyiv for the victims of Russia's latest attack.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
I see no point in analyzing Donald Trump’s latest empty talk about the war and Ukraine. This man’s words are absolutely worthless and carry no meaning whatsoever.
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
Russians suddenly launched missile attacks on sleeping people in Kyiv in the middle of the night. A residential building was destroyed, there are wounded and dead, including a child. Putin is a maniac who kills civilians in response to all requests for peace. And makes Trump look like an idiot

When politicians reduce Russia’s war on Ukraine to soundbites, they forget it’s not just words, it’s lives, blood, and freedom on the line. For us, this is real, not rhetoric. 🇺🇦
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, this is the largest war in Europe since WWII—and we live it every single day. We fight, we bleed, we endure, because our freedom is worth it. We also hope for peace, but only a peace with justice where Ukraine is whole, free, and sovereign. ✊🇺🇦 Slava Ukraini!
Andrii Dmytro (@andriidmytr.bsky.social)
Exactly. Their ‘protection’ is death and ruins. They don’t liberate they annihilate. Every strike on our homes shows the truth: Russia wages war not against armies, but against innocent people. We fight so that lies will never triumph over freedom. 🇺🇦✊

Overnight, Russia launched another wave of strikes across Ukraine — over 60 drones and a ballistic missile. ▪️ In Okhtyrka, the Sumy region, 14 people were injured, including children as young as five months.
