I agree with you. I think it is much more likely he had a lot of fluid drained from the heart sac and abdominal cavity and was on rest. Neither require a general anesthesia so he could be up and able to walk to a car 3-4 days after it was done
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
Occam's Razor never lets me down. The simplest explanation here is they drive him to the club and maybe even around the course a bit but he doesnt really play because he doesnt have the strength. A body double would require too many moving parts
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
Or getting a pericardiocentesis procedure, where they drain the fluid build up in his heart sac. Also could be done at the WH since a general anesthesia is not required. For that matter he could have had fluid drained from his abdominal cavity as well.
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
That is a photoshop
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
My guess is that they had to do a pericardiocentesis on him which i where they drain fluid directly from the sac around the heart. They coukd do it at the WH med facilities as it doesn't require general anesthesia. It would require rest though
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
His congestive heart disease is worsening. My guess is the reason we didn't see him for a few days is because they had to perform a pericardiocentesis which is where they drain fluid directly from the heart sac. www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/treat...

I think it is also about the misogynistic culture in our formative years as even more about the rock solid belief of many Gen-Xers that cynicism = intelligence (see South Park). If someone buys into that they can easily reach everything "sucks" so might as well just look out for myself.
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
Agree there is no 1 reason. That said I think the blatant misogyny & rape overtones that was an acceptable part of the "brat pack" culture plays a big part. All of the misogyny of decades of entertainment w/out guardrails of what was considered decent. See Porky's, St Elmo's, 16 candles, etc

The DNC did not throttle his voice as the DNC does not run Presidential campaigns. When a candidate is chosen, their campaign takes over the DNC w/ the chair reporting to them. Any choices made about his messaging were made by the Harris-Walz campaign team (many of whom were leftover Biden folks)
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
You should be asking the DCCC (the House campaign committee (CC)) and the DSCC (the Sen CC) that as the DNC neither recruits nor funds congressional elections. That is entirely up to the respective CC.

While I am disappointed in Jeffries communication style he has excelled at the most important job of the minority house leader - keeping his caucus together. Not one voted for the BBBB or continuing funding resolution. Crockett w/only 2 yrs won't have those skills or relationships in the house
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
Not sure why you are contacting the DNC. It does not recruit or fund House candidates and because of that has no control over the D house leader. The org that does is the DCCC

The American obsession with "authenticity", as defined by crassness and bullying, over everything else is a big part of how we got here. President Clinton, with whom I have many issues, was authentic; however, he was not crass and rarely bullied.
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
While I agree in theory - the mechanism for doing that is not there except for state & local workers. The federal government takes taxes directly out of paychecks. Those tax receipts are not routed through state government coffers first. They go from worker to the fed.

Again there was no recourse but to accept it. He tried to appoint 3 folks to the NLRB and 1 person to the CFPB during Sen pro forma sessions in 2013 all 9 justices said it was unconstitutional. As for RBG he asked her to retire in 2013 and she flat out refused. That is on her.

He at least makes sense as he was the AG when there was a lot of dragging of feet. There is a lot more reason to call him than Holder or Lynch. Still if I were Gonzalez I would point out Mukasey was AG when the actual deal was made.
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
Why should Holder & Lynch be questioned? They were not the AGs when Epstein was given his sweetheart deal in 2008. Michael Mukasey was and notice he is not on this list. Neither is Alex Acosta.

Another one missing: Michael Mukasey, the AG when Epstein received his 2008 sweetheart deal. If I am ANY of the other AG's (R or D) subpoenaed the first thing I say is this isn't serious when the people who offered and approved Epstein's sweetheart deal are not being called in front of congress.

While the whole thing is totally creepy, VG herself said that she was a locker room attendant at the spa. She also said she got the job through her dad who was a maintenance manager at MAL. The trafficking comes in because it seems that MAL was being used to scout girls for Epstein to traffic.

Yes. Both Mystic Camp sites had camps going on. Camp Guadalupe River (GR) had a 4 week session and Camp Cypress Lake (CL) a 2 weeks session. All of the deaths were in Camp GR as the young girls cabins in Camp GR are the ones on the floodway.

While those buildings should have been moved some time in the last 99 years, the flooding was the original camp site (Camp Guadalupe River). The expansion in 2019 was Camp Cypress Lake and it was uphill. While some of it took on H20, water the deadly flooding was at GR. Here is a site map

Given how lax TX is about regulations that does not say a lot. For example, did the disaster plan weather radios for each cabin and one in the camp administrator's house? If not, is it because they were not required by state law?
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
There should be a warning system w/sirens. That said, that is a pretty big area with terrain that could absorb the sound so the sirens may not be reach everyone they need to. It seems to me the real failure here is the state government not requiring working weather radios at all camps, etc
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
They wouldn't have even had to fully evacuate. Just evacuate to the cabins on higher ground and wait until the water receded and they could be trucked out of there. This is what happened anyway. Just only with the survivors versus everyone

It was built 100 yrs ago probably before an official flood plain was filed. Still I question why they didn't move those low lying cabins at some point
Anon33Guest (@anon33guest.bsky.social) reply parent
That means they didn't receive the NWS flood warning at 1:18 AM that had "considerable" tag on it which would have sent it to cell phones. Also a weather radio would have received it. That was ~2 hrs before crest at Mystic. Time will tell if there was a breakdown in monitoring at Mystic.

Folks who had alerts turned on AND had cell coverage did get alerts from the NWS starting at 1:14 AM. Still businesses who are entrusted with vulnerable folks should have the most reliable alert system available and that is a weather radio.
