Gonna expand a little: the reason I prefer Queer Power to the joy/suffering dichotomy that seems to be under discussion right now is because whilst I love stories that have joy, suffering, anger etc - the main thing I want from my queer characters is agency. I want them to drive the story.

This is not the AI boom creating a new type of work, this is a classic example of managers using automation to deskill old ones. Creative workers who once made a higher wage creating original art and writing are now paid in piecework to edit automated output. Bosses are using AI to cut labor costs.
I don't mean to put the author on blast but this is exactly how automation has historically played out since the industrial revolution, how it lowers wages and conditions for workers, and how it benefits management and owners. AI is an automation technology, and it's little different this time.
