Flowers are a balm for disappointment.

The morning mists are back, as are the cooler morning temperatures. The heralds of autumn refresh and relax. This is in contrast to my 3rd grader,who stresses and discombobulates 😂. Walking backwards into a door handle and lacerating one's scalp was a new one for the school nurse .
They're as smart as preschoolers lol. Physical barriers and removing access and incentives are the key take aways I get from reading up on them. That and .22 lr rounds. Personally, I'm not shooting anything that I don't have to. The world is violent enough.
It's unfair fighting a critter that is intelligent, adaptable, and has opposable thumbs 😭
I"ve spritzed the porch with "unholy water". Pepper powder, high proof vodka, and peppermint oil. That little goober brought a knife to a gun fight. I'm aiming to win. 😂🤣
I went to check on my muscadine harvest last night and found these beauties instead. The local racoon had gone on a green grape bender, ripped the flaps off my dryer vent, and pooed on my porch. I guess I live at the local party spot. 😆🤣

Today was rough, tomorrow likely will be as well. However, I offer this little creek and the sounds of kids playing in the distance as a few seconds of reprieve.
The beetles are finally dying off for the year, so I can enjoy some.

Is anyone else hesitant to plant their cool weather stuff? I don't trust the forecast these days and bolting greens are a bummer.
As a remedy it's apparently very good for lung stuff, especially clearing inflammation and mucus. I'm asthmatic with kids, there's way too much lung mucus around these parts.
It's slightly invasive, and a volunteer.😂 Fertilize liberally with Temptations treats.

I figured out the mystery plant, finally. It turns out, elecampane has really big leaves the first year. It's actually pretty useful, so I'm well pleased.
Invasive species need more bad PR 😅
I do, but I might need to enlist their entire school for the whole 3 acres 😂
To my dismay, I have learned that pulling stiltgrass is the most effective method of removal and the seed banks can last 3 to 4 years. 😭
😆 I might just throw together some pizza dough.

I forgot to take my ADHD med this morning and instead of being reasonably productive, I made a collage of pink blooms while I tried to convince my brain that a ton of caffeine is just as good. (It is not).
That would require staying mad 😂. I get mad then it blows over 5 seconds later. The joys of ADHD.
😅 probably just enough to compensate for my hothead tendencies.
Mornings watching the sun come up are so serene and just what I need to offset the dumpster fire of existing in this messed up timeline.
Truthfully, everyone has their own private battles that they're fighting. Sometimes, they're obvious, and sometimes we hide the scars well. Almost nobody gets out of life untouched. There's so many people with so much worse; I was privileged that I could access the care I needed. I try to be kind.
Sadly stage 4 endometriosis didn't care 😂
Menopause and covid did a number 😅😭. The joints in my fingers are inflamed and stiff too. It's part of the cluster of weirdness I have been dealing with these days. Could be worse though. I'm not needing anything drastic.

It's hairy crab weed, Bradford pears,English Ivy, privet, stiltgrass, and morning glories here 😭.
They're jerks. They climb my climbing roses. I feel like morning glories, mint, and crocosmia could take over the whole property if I didn't fight back.
I think the humidity and sudden, unpredictable dry spells are hard for them. I do love them and yours are especially lovely.
I really think the seed packets should have cigarette style warnings.

My husband sure did. Her grandma gave her an entire pint of gummies, so the cake was forgotten. She's trying to make gummies her exclusive meal plan, but I'm not having it.
It is a little of both. Mostly, I slow down feeding and pruning during peak beetle season because I am not feeding those jerks more rose blooms.
More nostalgia blooms from 2023 because I love roses and I will eventually get back out there to prune them.

The lamest Krystalnacht attempt possible maybe happening at the moment, but my baby is turning 7. So here are some flowers of sort. You can laugh at the brown shirts and the ridiculously pretentious geniose sponge, strawberry compote, and German buttercream thingy. My mom has laying hens 🤷😂
