I remember going to the Towne Cinema as a kid. They ran matinees on the weekends for kids. We could see three movies. I think it started 10 am. During the intermissions, the manager would call a seat number and the child in that seat would get a fist full of change from a bucket. We brought food. 💛

It’s a sad story. Most of Wally Lamb’s stories are about extremely challenging situations and the emotional experience his characters undergo. I won’t give anything away, but I’ll tell you Corby grows in a realistic way. I listened to it, and enjoyed the narrator’s voice. That might help. 💛
