BORDERLANDS was a genuinely bad movie. I’ve played every game in this franchise and I was still so bored and lost pretty much the entire time. Everyone phoned it in, almost everyone was miscast and the plot was duller than dirt. Not even so bad it’s fun unfortunately.
Spoiler alert, I’m a guy who used to work at a struggling paper in a shitty Indiana city. I’m gonna love this show.

The show got canceled after four songs because of lightning and everyone was mortified and for some reason I was pretty at peace. He was very kind to a couple of young fans and talked very wholesomely about the band and its fanbase. I’m very happy he seems to have gotten to a good place in life.
Got to meet Isaac Brock and see Modest Mouse (first time ever seeing them live) this weekend. After 20+ years of fandom I had a whole speech planned about all my dead friends and his musics impact on our lives but I panicked and just said “thank you” and walked away.

Going on an Arnie kick because I was craving some goofy action. In my memory TOTAL RECALL was a fun movie with a ton of great one liners. The level of grittiness wasn’t something I was craving but I love Verhoeven’a style and it pairs so nicely with Arnold’s charm and humor.

A sound policy
The fact that it took me several years to watch one of the comedies of the modern era is shocking. BARB AND STAR GO TO VISTA DEL MAR is easily in my top ten of the 2020s and has an argument for number one. Such a delightful movie at every turn. Never felt dull or flat even for a moment. 10/10
I don’t have anything unique to say about COMING TO AMERICA aside from the “playing multiple characters” being a diminishing return. I loved all these weird cameos and so many people had performances that were more refreshing. Than Eddie in a wig.
SAVING SILVERMAN holds up okay, it was never earth shattering to begin with but more an early sign of what the most talented people in the cast were capable of. Solid 6.5/10 movie to turn your brain off too. Great action hijinks.

Saw THE NAKED GUN this morning. I can’t believe they pulled it off but they did it. Every joke feels like it would fit in with the original spirit of the franchise. I hope it gets 5 sequels. I cried from laughing at least 8 times.

As someone who didn’t watch much of the show, THE LIZZIE MCGUIRE MOVIE was pretty insane. Why are these children dating adults? Why is the principal a maniac? Unanswered questions but it’s sort of goofy enough to keep it interesting. Solid 6/10 if you don’t have nostalgia for it.
