Recent poling in Scotland still shows a very divided Scotland on the issue of Independence. You are, of course, fully entitled to your view, however that view does appear to be just in the minority

Then,as now, there were supporters of a Union with England from those who could / can see the benefits. As the last democratic vote in Scotland demonstrated, feelings seem to be split down the middle (53.3 no / 47.7 yes) so whatever the final decision, Scotland will remain a divided country
Despite all the history, if the Scottish people democratically vote to leave the Union, then good luck. It would be shame, as I do think we are better together, but national (inc Westminster) politicians just don’t seem to be able to work together. Same in Wales where I live 🤷♂️
But Scotland still became a founder of the Union through its own choice.
