It seems like it’s either going to end with Bondi or Patel/Bongino being gone, unless they can reconcile somehow. I’m hoping for Patel/Bongino. There aren’t many people on the planet I dislike more than Patel. And Bongino pisses me off because he lied about his USSS tenure and looks like a toaster

For now. Everyone is concerned, though - there’s absolutely no feeling of job security right now. The maddening thing is that it doesn’t matter how good you are at your job, either - a lot of really, really good folks have been let go. Only fealty to the orange throne matters.

Hegseth and Elbridge Colby are ultimately making the majority of the decisions re: Ukraine aid. Thankfully, after it gets reported and the White House figures out what’s happening (yes, that’s concerning) they seem to be reversing these decisions. Insane that they’re finding out from the media.
Interesting question, and yes, I think that’s likely. There are a lot of folks who have a vested interest in making sure those accounts aren’t ever made public.
That’s a big concern of mine. During his first term, most of our allies brushed him off as an aberration. We tried something stupid. It didn’t work. No harm, no foul. Then we did it again. Biden rebuilt all of the goodwill that Trump lost, but I fear it’s going to be harder after Trump 2.0
I think so, yes. The biggest thing about protesting en mass like we are is that it reminds people that we aren’t 1939 Germany. There’s a large, organized social and political resistance to this regime, and the message is clear: We aren’t going to sleepwalk into a dictatorship.
There are a lot of concerns about Trump’s mental state. Multiple people on the Hill are complaining about their lack of access to Trump and that his handlers are keeping him insulated. He goes off script when they do talk. Basically everything the books accused Biden’s team of doing.
Fixable? Yes. We’re going to have to give the Democrats a lot of grace when (not if) we retake the House and the Senate, though - these aren’t going to be quick fixes. And everyone Trump put in place should be fired on principle.
The damage being done to our democracy and the rule of law seems overwhelming. Assuming we ever get the chance, will we be able to put Humpty Dumpty back together again? Is this fixable? And will there be a way to do it that doesn't require firing literally everyone Trump hired?
