Good thing I signed up for email alerts, since I don’t use Facebook or Instagram. Of course no email with an update at all.
They could have sent an email by now with a quick explanation and a new time for the release.
I’m sorry. But I’ll try to get more tickets and share them with less fortunate Bowie friends, who don’t have the time to wait around the computer for this ticket system to finally work.
The official opening is on the 13th, but there are 2 preview days on the 11th and 12th for members. So I became a member and got my tickets without any stress.
I’ll send you my report. I’m already on the safe side, having tickets for September 11 & 12.
No idea what’s happening. It still says ‘Tickets available soon’. Maybe a technical problem. Leaving a lot of Bowie fans around the globe hitting that refresh button.
No, I saw that too. That’s why I think the actual expo will be really small. Nothing compared to Bowie Is.
They were supposed to go ‘on sale’ at 10:00, but nothing seems to be happening.

I have a feeling that it won’t be as vast as Bowie Is. From what I’ve read, they’ll only show a small selection. And change displays from time to time. The information wasn’t very clear to me. But I’m just glad that a Bowie related period is coming up. It’s been so long.

I couldn’t resist. Always that fear of missing out. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you for the 13th. I’ll be in town until the 16th, so I’ll probably try to get another slot on the 14th or 15th. We’ll see. I saw Bowie Is in London, Berlin, Paris, Groningen, Barcelona and New York.
Exciting times. I became a member of V&A and was able to score tickets already for September 11 and 12. Bring it on!

I have so many good memories about that period. David has been Van Morrison’s bass player since the early 70’s. He’s been with Van throughout the decades, the last album they did is from 2019.
Kate is easy to find now. In the past, I was always searching for Katie. I’m pretty convinced she’s called Katie. I even tried the kids Tyler and Kaitlyn, but no response. Now let’s turn on KOZT! You’ve been very helpful, without realizing. Thanks Pia!

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot. I spent about a month at his place in Woodland Hills in 1992. I know he lives in Fort Bragg now. In 1992 we took care of the kids during daytime. His wife Kate went to bed early, because of an early shift at the radio station. When all was quiet David and I recorded 1/2

My local record store (back in the days) had a little stand on the counter with the sign: No Risk Disc. A different album weekly. Mostly upcoming artists. The owner guaranteed a full money return of you didn't like the album. Trailer Park was a No Risk Disc and I picked it up in 1996. No regrets!

She’s terrific live. I’ll still be in South Africa when she plays Holland and Belgium, but I’m trying to get a ticket for Köln or Hamburg. Or perhaps Zürich. But that’s pretty far away. We’ll see.
I found her music a couple of months ago. It’s the best, hauntingly beautiful music I’ve heard in a long, long time. I even sit through the pretty weird ‘Perverts’. ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ is a masterpiece, which leaves me breathless after ‘Strangers’. Can’t wait to see her live in Köln or Hamburg.

SRV wanted his own band Double Trouble as a support act. And apparently SRV wasn’t the most reliable, due to his drug use. Earl Slick literally had a couple of weeks to prepare.

SRV was supposed to tour with Bowie in 1983, but walked out at the very last minute. Earl Slick stepped in and saved the day. There are recordings floating around in perfect quality of Bowie rehearsing with SRV in Dallas.
