i can easily admit i am in a better position than many poor people in other countries even though i'm low income in finland. i do not know why so many people have insane complexes about admitting their family has more wealth than others. you don't have to feel guilty, but don't deny it either.....
and these friends would HATE it when i would point this out, that no, i can't just "save up" like you, my parents don't give me money like that because they don't have it. and they'd get really upset about it, i just don't get it. and like i said, people STILL act that way as adults in university
when i was a teen i had wealthy friends tell me "if you just saved up you would also be able to travel a lot", this was back when we were all like 16 so it was all family money, like. my parents are immigrants in an apartment? your parents have a big house? we do not have access to the same funds
and if you make even the smallest non-judgemental, neutral comment about this they go "nooo that's not true" and start getting really defensive. it's just funny like i have had this experience all my life with people i know who live in 3 floor houses or in the center of the city. just own up to it
i think funniest thing in university is that people really really dislike it if you point out, and not in a bad way even, that they're from a well off family. like i have friends whose parents have vacation homes in spain or like, they live in the literal wealthiest postcode in finland (westend)

oh this cat is at a shelter! she has been for like 4? years now. we are adopting her from a very reputable shelter, shes just had bad experiences w a previous home. shes being fostered now and is a real sweetheart. i just feel bad shes been waiting so long for a forever home
