I am SO sorry you’re going through this. I had a similar thing happen when a drunk taxi driver nearly totaled my car. I had to fight so much, and never got a rental. Coughed up $500+ just to get one for a week. My car was being fixed for 2 months. I hope it works out better for you. 😭💖

It’s the same thing with a very specific emergency room nearby, for me. I have to go way more than I’d like, and that hospital has some pretty low reviews.. but all of the staff in the ER just CARE. And that’s rare in the medical field 😅

It’s incredibly expensive, and not every venue wants to work with furries. The logistics behind it is a lot. Again, I’m sorry that you didn’t get a room and will not be able to see friends/family but there’s a lot of factors and some are just outside of the cons control. 💖
But in general people should be a bit less aggro at con staff unless they’ve done something like ACTUALLY horrible. I know most staffers are doing it because they love the community and want to put on a good show.
The specific thing that triggered my post was everyone getting so mad about Furpocʼs hotel block opening and them not getting a room. Lots of people like to tell you how to run a convention but have zero idea how much more is involved with it. So they take it out on the staff. They’re volunteers! 😭
Please don’t be mean or take out your frustrations on con staff. They could just NOT have a con. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

While it is a bummer to those who were unable to book the block, it is just kinda how cons are now. I get it’s frustrating, but please try not to point fingers at the staff/management. Also, keep in mind that the con also sets aside a specific block for vendors and staff.
I would very much enjoy seeing those who criticize, plan and book a convention. There’s more than just “I want this hotel” or “we need a bigger space”. With the insane growth all cons have seen since COVID, almost every convention is struggling with space.
