A key difference here is that while either can be incorrect, the structure of Wikipedia *creates context* and the structure of LLMs *destroys context* Wikipedia has linked sources and an edit history showing where information came from and who added it when An LLM just generates text

Doing the basics well (not just shiny tech/gadgets) is a huge part of reducing emissions & we need to recognise + embrace that. We have just tested a simple change to the hot water system in a big university building & it reduces energy use by ~20%. Users won't notice. Yay for the simple stuff!

I get this ad sometimes about improving brevity in writing and it gives the example, "Stop using unnecessary words that you don't need in sentences." Which it shortens to, "Stop using unnecessary words in sentences." Which is fine but why not just, "Stop using unnecessary words."

In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes. So obviously the conclusion was that the Y chromosome defined masculinity.
