What we need to do is have a ban like the 80s but pass laws to limit the guns production before it takes place so we don't end up with more weapons in the population. Pass red flag laws, anti 3d printing and bump stock laws.
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social) reply parent
The fully automatic guns banned in the 80s, still made for cops and the military, have never been used in a mass shooting because the atf monitors their sales etc. The 'ban' in the 90s however on semi autos, saw many more guns bought up and it lasted only 10 years.
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social) reply parent
Usually when there is a 'ban' there is a surge in gun manufacturing and sales before it goes in effect. A 'ban' always leads to more of those guns in American households. Then those weapons can sell for 6 figures, though monitored by the atf.
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social)
The left thinks a gun ban will remove guns from the population. The right thinks a ban will have people take your guns. This never has happened. Certain guns get banned from being produced for the public. The atf monitors the ones in the public. They still remain there.
Stephen King (@stephenking.bsky.social) reposted
As long as guns are easily available to crazy people, mass killings directed at so-called soft targets will continue. This is a fact. Countries where it's more difficult for crazy people to obtain guns have less shootings. This is also a fact. Do with these facts as you will.

I think what a lot of people don't get when the male loneliness epidemic gets brought up is that most these troubled young men are quite young. It's not about trying to get them girls. It's about trying to steer them away from the manoverse and incel sites that are toxic and lead to tragedies.

I hate having anxiety. It's going to take a lot to get my first YouTube video out there, especially since I don't like attention, talking about myself or being seen. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about that too much. I just have to compete with thousands of creators on popular topics lol
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social)
Adam Kinzinger is the only person I've seen that can talk about male loneliness and not make it about women, sex and dating. Loneliness isn't about not getting laid. It also has nothing to do with women's success. That's what the assholes online make it about. What he talks about can help all of us.

Since there's not going to be a gun ban ever, and the Democrats dropped the issue a few years ago and we know the other side won't do anything on guns, we need to do more for mental health in this country. That discussion always gets shut down by gun control talk. One ain't happening. Time to shift.

More people outside the elite were starting to read and it was the Gothic works they sought out. These were a couple decades before Frankenstein. Frankenstein is probably the first Modern idea of Horror and Sci-Fi, written several decades before the Horror, Mystery and Sci-Fi boom of the late 1800s

A guy named Horace Walpole wrote the first Gothic novel, The Castle of Otranto, pretending he found this old manuscript so it was praised at first. Once people found out he wrote it they called it trash. Women started writing their own Gothic novels, and some men, and it became a craze in literature

I can understand that. It's usually always a surprise. Most trained psychiatrists have to be tricked by them before realizing what they are. There's a special test used in prison to verify it. It's not easily identified, usually not until they crash and get caught. I'm sorry that happened.

Her laying there as her home burns, mostly shadowed at first is by no means sexualized. Her getting up with torn clothes, not that bikini, and you don't really see any nudity but maybe for a couple seconds, not a focused shot, is not sexualized. And by 80s standards? Are you kidding?
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social) reply parent
I don't know about that version of the comics but the 1985 did not sexualize that. They didn't even really show it. Are you saying the comic was sexualized because she was drawn as attractive? Most comic characters, male and female are.
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social) reply parent
Her revenge wasn't all about rape. Her family was murdered. And there's not that many actions movies that utilize that. More so horror films as it's a subgenre but they have important things to say also. My issue was when she said it sexualized her. That's where I take issue.
Benny (@benny-st.bsky.social) reply parent
My issue is more with the director's statement about that particular story. How it was worded. A lot of comics did get retconned in the 2010s. A lot of Marvel uses those newer stories for their movies. I get that. I've just seen a lot of 'sanitized' iterations lately, of many adaptations.

California is not one of the most un-Trump states, it's very red like New York. If that was the case then the topic of gerrymandering in those places wouldn't need to come up. He knows that. That's why rather than just do it, he's tossing it to voters to take the blame when it fails.
