Trump and his greedhead cronies may get a big surprise in spite of their efforts to rig the 2026 election. They could find themselves swamped by a blue wave. Americans are wising up to the fact that Trump is turning the American dream into a nightmare.

What we need to do is have a ban like the 80s but pass laws to limit the guns production before it takes place so we don't end up with more weapons in the population. Pass red flag laws, anti 3d printing and bump stock laws.

The fully automatic guns banned in the 80s, still made for cops and the military, have never been used in a mass shooting because the atf monitors their sales etc. The 'ban' in the 90s however on semi autos, saw many more guns bought up and it lasted only 10 years.

Usually when there is a 'ban' there is a surge in gun manufacturing and sales before it goes in effect. A 'ban' always leads to more of those guns in American households. Then those weapons can sell for 6 figures, though monitored by the atf.

The left thinks a gun ban will remove guns from the population. The right thinks a ban will have people take your guns. This never has happened. Certain guns get banned from being produced for the public. The atf monitors the ones in the public. They still remain there.

As long as guns are easily available to crazy people, mass killings directed at so-called soft targets will continue. This is a fact. Countries where it's more difficult for crazy people to obtain guns have less shootings. This is also a fact. Do with these facts as you will.

I think what a lot of people don't get when the male loneliness epidemic gets brought up is that most these troubled young men are quite young. It's not about trying to get them girls. It's about trying to steer them away from the manoverse and incel sites that are toxic and lead to tragedies.

Adam Kinzinger is the only person I've seen that can talk about male loneliness and not make it about women, sex and dating. Loneliness isn't about not getting laid. It also has nothing to do with women's success. That's what the assholes online make it about. What he talks about can help all of us.

Since there's not going to be a gun ban ever, and the Democrats dropped the issue a few years ago and we know the other side won't do anything on guns, we need to do more for mental health in this country. That discussion always gets shut down by gun control talk. One ain't happening. Time to shift.

I’m going to make this a video at some point but I’m saying this here and being done because it’s honestly just angering and scaring and frustrating me.

The reason I’ve been so critical of people praising the likes of Gavin Newsom and saying things like, “you may not like him but we need him in the fight,” or applauding his redistricting of California as a tit-for-tat move against GOP redistricting, is that fundamentally they are ignoring the core problem here: this is just justifying a further slide into an authoritarian state. I want to be clear, because people don’t seem to understand me when I say this—I think Gavin Newsom’s response to the GOP redistricting Texas to disenfranchise Democratic voters and give themselves more representatives, by doing the same in California to disenfranchise GOP voters and give Democrats more representatives, is the correct response within the system. Yes, if Democrats want to win, this is what they have to do. They shouldn’t be playing by rules the GOP clearly ignores. Again, this is the only response that makes sense within the rules of the game. But the problem with everyday Americans’ response—cheering on Newsom and saying we need to get behind him uncritically—shows how much people empathize with power over themselves. At the end of the day, this is the American system further entrenching and normalizing authoritarian power. Even if Democrats were to win using these tactics in 2028—which is preferable to a GOP win, yes—they will not willingly give up this newly normalized power dynamic. More voters will have been disenfranchised. Long term, we’re left with a system even less democratic, with few—if any—levers within it to push back. Worse still, so many are cheering on the idea of having strongman leaders like Newsom. People literally make Trump-like memes of him carrying an American flag. This “we need our own strongman to fight Trump and kick him in the balls” is the same cult of personality that entrenches the Trumpian mindset within establishment Democrats who think they’re being progressive, while actually backing further disenfranchisement of middle- and lower-class Americans—people already struggling under late-stage capitalism. And people like Newsom—or other Democratic leaders establishment liberals rally behind, like Pete Buttigieg—are perfectly willing to throw trans people or the homeless under the bus if it plays well to a mythical centrist base. So while people pat themselves on the back for voting for a gay man or supporting a Democrat like Newsom who “punches Trump where it hurts,” they’re ignoring not only their own further disenfranchisement, but also the additional attacks and harm directed toward even more marginalized groups like trans people and the homeless. I say all of this because one day people will have to reckon with this reality—that the American system will continue to justify making itself more authoritarian under the logic of, “that’s just how we have to fight the fascists.” That’s the only choice it offers us within its limits. But we do have other options. People are just too scared, or too enmeshed in the political system, to recognize them or admit what needs to be done. We need to fundamentally change how we do politics. I’m not saying you need to pick up a gun and start a revolution against the American state. But I am saying you need to stop focusing solely on electoral politics or trying to pass laws within this system to get what you need. Build up your communities. Find ways to provide food, educational resources, childcare, and other essentials locally. Organize for community defense. Join a union or a collective. These are tangible actions, better uses of your time than canvassing for a political campaign, asking people to vote, or arguing with Republicans online. The path we’re on—pouring our energy into stanning Newsom or treating electoral politics as the only way to “win”—is deeply dangerous. It limits our imagination and leads us further into authoritarianism. And eventually, we will have to face that fact—whether it’s in 2028, 2032, or 2036. No matter what, we will have to confront that fundamental problem. The reason I’m so adamant about recognizing it now is that the longer we wait, the more people will be hurt. As a trans person, I’m already on the chopping block—discarded by both sides of the same system of power. I see how people like me face a very real chance of being imprisoned, killed, or worse before society wakes up to this problem. And I’m not the only one. To paraphrase the poem: “They came for the trans people, and I did nothing, for I was not trans.” What scares me most is that when I try to explain all of this, I am the one vilified. Trans people like me are told—not just by Republicans who openly hate us, but by Democrats—that we need to shut up and get behind “our guy” with “our guy” always being politicians who are more willing to publicly sit down with the likes of Charlie Kirk than to platform or even talk to a trans person. That’s how the system fuels resentment and dehumanization of marginalized people like me—because I’m unwilling to comply. I become the problem, the issue, the person to ostracize, the one accused of helping the fascists. At the end of the day, I’m not here to say Gavin Newsom is wrong to redistrict in response to Trump and the GOP. That is how Democrats can and should win power, and within the system, it’s what they should be doing. That’s not my criticism. My point isn’t to Newsom—it’s to you. Because while redistricting may be a short-term solution, it doesn’t solve the deeper problem. It delays it. It accelerates it. And you will eventually have to face it. I would much rather we face it clear-eyed now. Because doing so not only gives me, as a trans person, a greater chance of survival, but it also means that if you recognize the problem now, I’m still here with you—still able to fight alongside you. Because as the poem warns, one day they will come for you. And by then, there may not be anyone left beside you to fight.

Not only did federal goons show up to try and intimidate our governor, they did so on hallowed ground. Gov. Newsom was speaking at the Democracy Center at the Japanese American National Museum, which I helped found so we do not repeat the horrors and injustices of the past. Shameful.

Her laying there as her home burns, mostly shadowed at first is by no means sexualized. Her getting up with torn clothes, not that bikini, and you don't really see any nudity but maybe for a couple seconds, not a focused shot, is not sexualized. And by 80s standards? Are you kidding?

I don't know about that version of the comics but the 1985 did not sexualize that. They didn't even really show it. Are you saying the comic was sexualized because she was drawn as attractive? Most comic characters, male and female are.

Her revenge wasn't all about rape. Her family was murdered. And there's not that many actions movies that utilize that. More so horror films as it's a subgenre but they have important things to say also. My issue was when she said it sexualized her. That's where I take issue.

My issue is more with the director's statement about that particular story. How it was worded. A lot of comics did get retconned in the 2010s. A lot of Marvel uses those newer stories for their movies. I get that. I've just seen a lot of 'sanitized' iterations lately, of many adaptations.

I seriously wasn't sure if I'd like Sinners and thought that I'd enjoy Nosferatu. Sinners is one of the best movies out and Nosferatu was a badly written, over the top shit fest that ruined the classic of all classics.

It got out that citizens didn't want to change how districts are redrawn in California before Newsom decided to leave it to the voters. A lot of big talk for nothing. Can we have a state that can actually manage to gerrymander for the Dems step up? If not shut up about you hacks.

California is not one of the most un-Trump states, it's very red like New York. If that was the case then the topic of gerrymandering in those places wouldn't need to come up. He knows that. That's why rather than just do it, he's tossing it to voters to take the blame when it fails.

As more and more people are arrested by the feds in DC on BS charges for interfering with federal goons, I think it's going to be important to run a public campaign calling for mass jury nullification, both in grand juries and petty juries. Make it impossible for them to bring charges or convict.

What's a way to look tough and try to score possible 2028 bid points. Challenge a state that is going to gerrymander by saying you will when you know your own state will most likely vote no, then release an overkill map and leave it up to the voters so it's on them if it fails. Newsom is a shitheel.

I take serious issue with the new Red Sonja movie. This is a character who is a rape survivor but the director said gang rape sexualizes her. Wtf? So they removed that and kept the skimpy outfit that later artists used to sexualize her with. She wasn't wearing that originally or in the 80s movie.

If you really want to fight fire with fire you need states other than California, New York and Illinois to do that. Two are mainly republican aside the big cities and Illinois already gerrymandered as much as they could for dems when they fucked over Adam Kinzinger who's been taking on Trump longer.

Can a state that actually has a chance at getting more dem districts actually throw their hat in the ring for the gerrymandering wars? California was never serious, New York also has a lot of Republican voters and Illinois already gerrymandered itself as blue as it can be.

I don't know why Newsom wants to hold a vote on his gerrymandering threat. Maybe it's because it's gotten out most the people there don't want it and this was all for show. Also, doesn't he know most his state is Red? He should know a vote may not work.
