I know because all major LGBTQ+ groups have been modeling meek team-player support for the Democratic party for decades. We have not had disruptive gay rights protests since the tail end of AIDS. Marriage equality and the push for trans rights afterward were respectability-focused efforts.

RE: the bait part: engage with them to make productive points but don't lose your cool or step into counterproductive patterns because of them. There are accounts on this platform designed to ruin your mental health and create conflict that doesn't serve you. Maintain focus, protect your mental.
It's exactly this sort of thinking that led us down the path to where we're at, which is fascism. The slightly less Hitler doesn't stop Hitler, he just takes turns being in power with him. They're coworkers, fellow travelers. But also, a lot of these takes are probably just divisive bait.
