I remember the Kenneth Branagh version getting similar complaints from reviewers who obviously didn't know the novel.

We already have a cruise on the Disney Destiny scheduled for the week of the D23 Expo next year, so it will be the first time I will miss one. Might be my age talking more than anything, but I'm not that broken up about it after the exhausting nature of last year's event.

I even pre-dated that and had a Netflix account when they did individual rentals. I bought my first DVD player in mid-1997, within the first couple of months they were available. I had the Pioneer unit that also played laserdiscs.

I didn't realize the original was gone. My parents had their first date there (my mom went to ISU and my dad went to Wesleyan) back in the 1950s, so the chain was always something of a family favorite. So sad to see what the current owners have done to it.

I'm not sure what to make of that article as it focuses on number of states not number of seats. California, New York and Illinois combined have 95 seats. Overall, there are quite a few more red states than blue, but the House is almost evenly divided as the blue states generally have more people.

If I recall correctly, the TRS-80 did beat the PET 2001 to market by a couple of months. The Apple II was the first to market of the three big 1977 debuts, but it didn't come with a monitor, which likely justifies Radio Shack's use of the word "complete".

Another key difference in TV between the mid-90s and now is that TVs themselves were still bulky CRTs with lower-resolution, squarish screens. Those would seem as alien to a 2025 teen as black and white was to an 80s teen.
