My son is in his late 30's. STILL burdened by student debt, and very few opportunities for FT jobs that are stable, with bennies, etc. It's all contract now, 1099. I was 53 when I moved to San Fran in 2010, and it was already like that - all contract, a lesson from Microsoft in Seattle.
One of my very closest friends still works for the CDC. She was just getting over the trauma of the shooting (remember that???), and now this mass resignation of so many respected coworkers.
