I’m puzzled how this is legal at all. The Reapportionment Act of 1929 required that the number of seats in the chamber be kept at a constant 435, and a 1941 act made the reapportionment among the states by population automatic after every decennial census. The courts move far too slowly.

Spending does not correlate to inflation. It’s a myth. Never has. The question that should be asked is if there are enough goods and services available for purchase to support the spending. Spending beyond what’s available for purchase will be inflationary.

Your point is excellent and I think it’s also hard for people to grasp their payroll taxes are funding nothing. They’re accounting entries. If payroll taxes are used to fund SS, how’d the initial payments go out before any funds were collected? Same as where did you get money to pay ANY taxes?
Daniel S. Cronrath (@bigprofdan.bsky.social) reply parent

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment that pays existing investors with money from new investors. The goal is to make investors believe they are earning profits from a business, when in reality there is no real business activity. None of this remotely describes Social Security.
