Yes, but don't "stock up" either before or after. Do without ANYTHING you can. Make family time, read a book, meet your neighbors, just don't patronize any corporations if you can avoid it. Buy from local merchants if possible.

My only problem with cities is that some are difficult to get around in. This country needs a different traffic system so people can get somewhere and not spend all day doing it. Example: roundabouts instead of traffic lights. Or, mandated convoys like train cars. Everyone on the road, same speed.
I think guns and anything that can be thrown to kill should be outlawed…but, I think everybody should be given a taser that sparks whenever they're pushed or brutalized some way. We don't need to kill, we should just stop the hurt.

Most populations who interact with each other every day, and must coexist with their neighbors understand the ideas of, at least, some socialism. Rural areas try to get attention with that "home town" mentality but it's different there when you can pick your friends and can ignore others.
This is the way to go! Barter with your neighbors instead of feeding large corporations. I've often said that I can do without ANYTHING but air and water, for a short time anyway.
