Onion seeds need to be fresh!! They don’t have good germination if they are old. I started buying my onion seeds from our local farm store and have had lot better luck with germination. You can sow them fairly thick too wet & tease them part when it comes time to plant in the garden.

Good luck, their roots systems are massive. I don’t have trouble with animals in the asparagus bed, other than my dogs running through it. I want to start another bed. I’ve been collecting seeds and starting them in the spring. I’ve had better luck with seed than crowns!
Asparagus needs lots of room to spread its roots, it may not produce as well in a raised bed as you would like. They also take about 3 years to produce good size spears.

Not vegan not gluten free. I rarely use a recipe. But shred & salt the zucchini let sit an hour or more in the fridge, then squeeze out as much of the water as you can before adding the other ingredients m: eggs, cheese & bread crumbs.

I did a boule in my cast iron, didn’t feel like waiting for it to preheat. It was pale and underbaked after 20 min lid off and another 10 @ 500. I just turned the oven off and left the boule in the oven by itself for a little longer and it browned up nicely.

This ridge is weird. Rain clouds will be heading straight for us and split and go around us! I have way too be a garden to do fabric pots. The main garden we rested this year. By rested, I mean we grew 8’ tall johnson grass. So we put 16 piglets in there to clear it out.
Lack of adequate water through July& August(no rain). The hay bales were great when We were getting rain every other day in the spring. But once they dry out, it’s really difficult to keep things alive without a soaker hose or drip line. So yeah, that’s been part of my learning process this year.
I’m still waiting for my ghost peppers to bloom, they have had a hard life so far. I don’t anticipate actually getting any peppers until next year. Hope your harvest is plentiful!!
I do it as well. I also use warm water to help wake it up. The colder the dough temp, the longer the rise. All depends on what flavors you’re trying to get into your dough. If you like sharp & tangy/long & cold, mild w/no tang/warm & faster ferments. Love the versatility of sourdough!
