Rereading what I have so far, I'm asking myself if anyone is "good" or "bad" and who's right and who's wrong. But that's how life works, right? We just make choices and have to deal with them. It's interesting seeing how my writing evolves as I get older too.
I ended up working on the script until 1am. 12 pages so far. Nearly done. trying to give myself permission to write realistically fucked up and messy people and it's therapeutic.
The air quality is so bad here that I'm getting warnings on my phone about it. Migraine for the last few days. If I'm outside for a few minutes my throat gets sore.
Haha thank you. I felt very silly sitting in a neon pink cafe dressed in all black and edgy for MCM, but it made for a good photo. 😂 I wish I had better pictures of just my nails but I think I deleted them all.
The only decent photo I have of my nails is from when I was in Soho last year 😂 I really messed up my nails a few months ago so they're bare and very short until I get all the old growth out.
Oh and nail prep is important. Dehydrator and ph bond. If you know what a nail salon smells like, the PH bond is that smell. So if you or anyone in your house is sensitive to smell, use it in a room with an open window. It'll hang around for a while.
(unless it hurts, then it's an infection and you should go to a doctor. I know that's probably common sense BUT it's the Internet and you never know who's reading stuff)
Technically you should buff your nails a little before application but I don't. It does cause lift from time to time but I just clip off the lifted gel. Greenies will happen at some point (I got my first after 5 years, but from a nail salon) It's not harmful, just chlorophyll that stains the nail
Modelones and Beetle. A clear or nude gelly is fine. I have an E File, but I use it on mini figs now. I always end up fucking up my nail beds when I use it. Just get a lot of nail files, and make sure you wear a mask when you file your gel down before removal.
Oh and you don't need all those crazy builder gel colors, regular polish applies fantastically over it and that way you don't have to keep removing the colors. And NEVER USE MAGIC GEL REMOVER I found out recently it's literally car paint stripper and isn't regulated and is a known carcinogen 🥲
Builder gel is a mix between hard gel and gel nail polish, so it doesn't hold its shape, but it's great for creating strength for your natural nails and it's still flexible enough that it doesn't cause your nails to snap if you hit them wrong. But seriously, acrylate allergies are no joke.
I use builder gel but you need to be careful with it because of acrylate allergies. Don't use dip powder, you can't not inhale the stuff and it'll make you sick. I *should* do this every time but I'm lazy, but liquid latex and UV gloves are your best bet for safe application.

Living in an old house is weird cos any time it's hot out you'll get random whiffs of the weirdest stuff. My office suddenly smelled like cigarette smoke and then it went away. (It used to be worse before the remodel) No wonder people think their houses are haunted. Plaster won't give anything up.

Really? All of my comics classes in uni insisted we did letters first. But we also focus on indie stuff so I guess it was expected we did everything from script to final page setting for print.
It's finally cool enough to go on walkies again. Luna got many sniffs and was polite to the ducks and heron at the pond. She is a good gorl.
I do my pencils in different colors for that exact reason. Sometimes I forget I have to explain it to clients 😂

I'm seeing people call out folks for AI just because images are really flat or "have the vibe" and not dead giveaways like melted hair/clothing and and shapes and stuff that don't make any logical sense even if it was an accident. Like, can we not?
It's pattypan squash if you want to plant your own!! They're native to the Americas and even with vine borers and squash bugs, I'm getting a lot of harvest for my first attempt:) the little green ones are black gem squash, not doing as well as they're from South Africa.
I also have a bunch of squash from my garden that I need to do something with. My first attempt was kinda squishy and not ideal.
I made v3gan adobo with dehydrated tofu and I'm genuinely surprised by how it turned out. Was only 2 bucks for a bag. Took flavor more than I expected so I'm gonna have to tweak it for next time.
It was something I've been wanting to do for a while for multiple personal reasons and I've been v3getarian/v3gan on and off like 5 times and it's been fun learning how to cook new things. I just bought an instant pot and air fryer combo that's made it way easier.
I haven't been keeping track cos it's healthier for me this way but I don't think I've eaten meat for over a week now. I don't really cook it at home save for pre made stuff and ironically I get more protein when I'm plant based. Inb4 anyone thinks I'm on a high horse, I'm just pleasantly surprised

I'll read whole chapters and realize I was reading the words, but none of it stuck. I could read out loud to someone perfectly fine, but I wouldn't be able to tell you what it was. Hearing it out loud at the same time really helps. Same with adding annotations!
That will read PDFs for free out loud. If there isn't already an audiobook of it in existence, that's how I managed to pass my masters level literature course with a high A during my senior year of my undergrad. I can read less flowery texts fine, but dense novels, I get so, so lost.

Oh I get it. I'm not trying to correct you in any, more thinking out loud about how color theory is just like. Vibes at the end of the day. I feel like in general that's the best rule of thumb tho and kinda how I go about it too. Work in that top right section, then move left and down and cooler
Ok I think I do less saturated shadows and then boost the core shadows' saturation usually with a complimentary color to add contrast. I've literally never thought about this, just rolling off of vibes ever since I graduated 😅
TBH a lot of art is FAFO and art theory just helps you FAFO with a bit more direction.
I was going to reply saying when I learned shadow should be more saturated rather than just one color, but now I'm questioning if that's even what I do. 🤡 Gonna have to eye dropper my art when I get home. Also obvs color theory requires was more context but yeah.
Sex workers can be exploited and coerced. But so can farm laborers, does that mean we should make it illegal to grow food? There is nothing inherently immoral or harmful about sex work or porn. If people are concerned about abuse, then help creators have more autonomy and power, not less.

Ok now I'm rinsed off, need to brush my teeth, toothpaste goes on toothbrush, water, brush teeth. Ok. Now I'm kind of dry enough to put on my clothes. Need to let the dog out, feed the dog, feed the cat. Do they have water? Let the dog in. Put on shoes, where's my keys, did I bring in the dog?-
Ok I need to condition, brush my hair, wash my face while my hair is being conditioned. Wash everything else, exfoliate, rinse my face, rinse my hair-- did I condition my hair? Did I wash my face? Better do it twice to be sure.
Enough today? Am I mentally rested enough to deal with weird textures, seams, or being too hot or cold at work? Can I risk looking like a slob today? Back to the shower. I need to wait for the temperature to not be too hot or cold before I get in. Now am I washing my hair? Do I want wet hair?-
Ok so while the house is warming up I'm going to get in the shower. I have my towels, my clothes- what level of comfort do I need today? I don't have time to put on makeup or really dress up, how can I wear clothes that I'm comfortable in that don't look inappropriate for the office... Do I care-

Not to mention, even if I'm trying to stay on track and on time, executive dysfunction means having to consciously think about every little task within a task. I was explaining to my coworkers "what do you do in the morning before work? And how do you mentally go through your routine?"
I have alarms for everything. Calendar alerts for everything. Notes, lists, text reminders for everything. I still have to limit my obligations because I will inevitably forget, double book, or crash out from the mental load.
I set an alarm at least an hour earlier than when I need to get up to take my meds. I then go back to sleep. If I don't, the sleep inertia is literally painful for me to get through and my whole morning is fucked. I'm in a groggy daze until 2pm at the earliest.
Time blindness is a very real thing for neurodivergent individuals. My doctor as a kid had me tested for seizures ,then I was diagnosed with anxiety with derealization, dissociation and depersonalization. Turns out it was ADHD this whole fucking time and I just struggled to tune into the world.

If everything is saturated, nothing looks saturated. If you go through my work, you can see my art over time had been becoming dark and muted, slowly coming back into color, looking a bit washed out, and now it's back to eye wiggling psychedelics but without actually using extreme colors.
I feel like every year my art becomes even more colorful and intimidating. I'm going back to my scene queen sparkledog roots. At least I don't color exclusively with the top right section of the color picker anymore. Color theory is important kids.

Yeah that's different for sure! But if it just comes down to your art, you're objectively good. I have someone I love who is schizoaffective and I heavily sympathize with your experiences. They're also incredibly smart and skilled. Both things can be true. ❤️
And people have told me I'm not as great as I think I am and I'm not better than everyone else. I didn't think I was. I've never thought I was better than other people. I just like staying knowledge and being proud of myself when I've done something I think is cool.

I would only consider this an issue if it has caused you harm or cost you relationships. There's also a mindset that being negative is more realistic which I feel is harmful. As long as you're not taking serious risks, harming others or yourself, what's wrong with having a positive disposition?
