When I lived in NYC, my MIL would call my husband and yell at him because she heard I took the subway home from a Yankee game at night. He just laughed as he told her that I was perfectly safe with the thousands of New Yorkers also traveling. And I took the subway to East NY every day.

As I am watching football, I keep remembering a funny story about my late husband. We had gotten DirectTV the NFL Sunday ticket. We had friends over and the guys are congratulating him on getting me to agree on the purchase. He laughed a n d said, "I bought it for her, she's nuts about football."

OK for the "it's never too late to try new things," crowd. I am 73 and vacationing with the family in the Outer Banks. Yesterday I drove a go kart for the first time. Also, we drove on a beach and on narrow sand roads to find wild horses. We saw about 10 altogether. What an amazing day!

In the early 50s, i had friends who had polio.
Managed to get to my garden plot between rain showers. Harvested this lettuce, tied up tomato plant stems, and gave the soil a turnover. Nature has been doing the watering the last couple days.
