My law firm is currently litigating 52 voting and election cases in 23 states. This includes the Ohio case we filed on Friday night and the redistricting case challenging Texas' new congressional map. I am thankful for our clients willing to wage these fights. They, not the lawyers, are the heroes.
If Democratic politicians do not fight this because it's a "distraction," it will simply happen. They need to get in front of every mic and say that we will not allow Trump to destroy American history. He wants a culture war? GIVE HIM ONE. There are no distractions. Have every fight.
Letโs be clear: deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to Uganda makes no senseโitโs not his home country. Nothing about this process has been fair. ICE is targeting him with cruelty. This is the weaponization of government, not justice.
The second amendment guarantees the right to a militia to guard against federal tyranny. But if a president can use that force against its own state, against the wishes of that state, then it is no militia at all and a clear violation of the second amendment.
