I’m constantly asking why Christians don’t talk about the sin of greed more, considering how frequently it comes up in the Bible and how frequently they mention other supposed sins, but the question is always met with silence. Even in more liberal churches I rarely hear it mentioned in sermons.

While it’s true that many working-class white Americans are having a tough time in the current economy, it’s not because of their race. It’s because of their class, according to a sociologist w ho’s spent decades studying race and inequality.
Community colleges are so underrated. In the 80s it was considered a wise economical choice in my working class burb. Today kids won’t even consider them.
Remember: There is nothing natural or inevitable about extreme inequality; it’s the result of an economic system that values wealth and power over human dignity and justice. It doesn't have to be this way.

That’s actually really depressing. I remember after the string of hits by women guitarist/pianist/singer/songwriters in the 90s I was so excited for the future of women in rock and was crushed once I realized it turned out to be largely one of performers.
So true! NPR has also interviewed Steve Bannon & a supporter of the Great Barrington Declaration & implied masks don’t work. I have to decide whether to take the risk of listening knowing I could end up sick to my stomach. Doesn’t seem like gaslighting long time supporters would be a good strategy.
So their argument is that we need more people for ideas, innovation, progress. But couldn’t we have just as much innovation and progress if more children had access to a good education and opportunities in life???

I am so deeply disturbed by this trend. I didn’t even know it was a thing until I heard Chris Rock joke about it and then all of a sudden it started showing up in movies and shows. Why aren’t younger women bothered by the fact that many men get off on the idea of killing them? It makes me sick.
