Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

Among the worst aspects of aging is that when you stop exercising for a bit the suffering involved in getting back into shape is exponentially greater. Nearing 50 I understand how people stop and just..never start again. It's the difference between "Damn, I'm out of shape" and "I might die here."
