I do like the idea that owning a skill saw happens to also mean I'm a professional cabinet maker even if not in any way true. I guess gatekeeping cuts both ways. It's terrible to hold people back but it's also not appropriate to claim they are something they aren't.

Doesn't require to be initially rendered by a server. But it will work there too. And because of how we built it the server render part can happen in any runtime not just node.

I've been trying to give web components a real shot. I used to think the API 100% sucked but I've mostly come around on it. Thinking of them as "enhanced elements" rather than bespoke components has helped make their use-case click (thanks enhance.dev, great resources there @brianleroux.bsky.social)
