Yesterday was hard. We had beautiful moments, but underneath it all, we are all hurting so badly. It's not as easy as it sounds to just "soak in every moment, be present, and make memories", not when your heart is shattered

Bloodwork came back perfect! It's not her liver, it's not her gallbladder, it's not her pancreas, it's not her kidneys! That is both comforting news, and a little scary. We are so glad her organs are perfectly happy, but something inside her is not. It could be a new spot
It all happened so fast! We packed the car, headed to Sunday dinner, light conversation, country music, 80 mph on the freeway, and out of no where, a deer jumped across the median, with absolutely no time to break, and we hit it HARD! Not just head to head, but full body across the entire

I didn't know she carried this weight, until I talked with her on Sunday. Before we jumped on the live to honor Riley, I asked her what she knew about him. She said, "He fought cancer. I have cancer, Paxton had cancer, does everyone die that has cancer? I think about being buried
I opened up Rixton's report card after school today, and a note from his teacher read, "Rixton is so smart! You keep loving him, and it will all work out." I often wonder if I'm giving them my all. I feel like my attention is spread so thin, it's hard not to feel exhausted, at the very thought
At her hospital bedside, my husband pulled out all the supplements we are having her take. She was shocked to see them, because we normally don't bring them with us; we just do them at home. She was curious about why there were so many; my husband helped her
Faith over fear", a phrase you've maybe used to encourage a friend that's struggling, and until I truly experienced hard, I didn't realize how dismissive these words felt. I often felt inadequate for being scared, and like my mustard seed of faith wasn't enough, because I had so much anxiety.
In the middle of the ocean, the boat moving fast, bouncing over every wave, we were looking off in the distance, watching whales jump, and admiring turtles sticking their heads above the surface. My husband and I were tightly holding all 4, nervous children.
This moment broke me. The way her eyes glanced my way after she answered, I had to rescue her. After taking off her mic, she jumped into my arms, and cried HARD. Gasping for air, but trying to stay quiet, burying her little head into my neck. Why can't I take this all away?!!
