This is what spontaneously came to mind when thinking of a good example of a typical Finnish building. This is what you see at the city square in Vaasa. Thought to be peak modernism in the 60’s, but quite an eyesore in my opinion .
From my point of view very different. In Finland we have red cottages and soviet concrete brutalism but very little in between 😅
I know I would exorcise the whole place just to be on the safe side…

The birch tree is my spirit tree if you even can have such a thing. They are so expressive, some are tiny but hundreds of years old, some crooked, some tall and proud. You can find one for every mood. These look like a hopeful morning 🌅

Sounds indeed like something primitive, ancient instinct. Like our common instinct to fear open dark doorways. Maybe, just maybe there’s a bear inside!
I find these little critters very sympathetic, especially when they seem to ”dance”. We call them ”lockespindel”, something like ”luring” or ”beckoning” spiders. However, when I sleep I don’t want anything taking a walk over my face, that triggers the caveman in me 😅

For us here in the Nordics it’s been the cool, overcast spring and early summer. First warmer days came second week in July with temperatures way above normal. Lasted until mid August. So too cold and dark and then too hot.

Here in western Finland, mallards are unfortunately on the decline and have been for decades. The main reason is a surplus of cleptoparasitic birds, such as corvids and eagles. They catch all sorts of baby birds but mallards seem extra vulnerable.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don’t process anything else than try to adjust brightness, contrast etc straight away to be as closely as possible to what I saw. What we see is also personal, how we perceive colour for example. I avoid overprocessed since it screams AI nowadays.
Sure, that’s true. Artificial joints, titanium plates, fake teeth you name it. It has prolonged the mobility and functionality for many already, and more is to come. I view it as a philosophical question: if I live my life to 110, but live it alone and without meaning and purpose, is it worth it?
