Speaking as a game developer who's had ~20 pieces of fanart total of their games, all I can add to this is seeing a piece of work makes my *month* 😅
For all the ways you can fault the 7-8-9 trilogy, I feel that the music & sound design nailed the brief.
Tools like DLSS should be used to make an already-performant game run particularly well. They shouldn't be used to try and prop up a game that isn't performant.
They probably need to ban the use of DLSS internally, give their team "ordinary" computers as defined by the Steam Survey, and insist they use them. Management too. Developers sometimes have absolute monster machines and carefully calibrated monitors, and this leads to complacency.
Wow, as they'd already said there would be no VR stuff I didn't watch it - but it's sounding like that was a good call as all signs I'm seeing suggest that the keynote at MetaConnect was an absolute shitshow

Weirdly that mutalk thing - it's also a microphone? It's meant to make it possible for you to converse with people (such as in VR) without disturbing people around you... ... but not gonna lie, I don't ever see it being a mainstream product
A Skies of Arcadia port would be great. Personally though I'd need an option to rebalance the random encounter rate & experience gain, as (maybe this is more just in the memory, it's been YEARS) but I recall it being quite punitive

I wonder if the Roy controllers are for that? Functionally they have all the inputs of an Xbox One controller, and they could do "pointer" functionality like how Switch Joycons work. Then they could *also* be VR controllers in the manner of Quest controllers.
I just don't think it's the long-awaited Valve Deckard VR headset. That said, I would be soooo happy to be wrong in this instance!
For the record, I think it's gonna be a consolized Steam Deck equivalent, along with a defined standard for consoles of that type. Basically a second run at "Steam Machines", something Valve did years ago which didn't take off, but the success of the Deck suggests it could.

I had this for the Amiga and absolutely loved it. It's interesting how you can draw that through-line, between games like this, and I guess Daggerfall through to Skyrim, because it really *was* like that.

Maybe 1 year you get 3xKPDH. Maybe 1 year you get no flops. Point is, you publish a ton of different, diverse stuff, and the ones that fail, provided it wasn't just due to embezzlement or something - you chalk up and pull the one-armed-bandit again.
I think that the big publishers somehow forgot the game. They consider each project as individual. The idea of a big publisher is you publish ~12 things, 4 flop, 5 are middling, 2 are successful and 1 is that year's KPop Demon Hunters and that pays for the rest. Then you do that again. And again.
Oh wow - I hope they can do a VR version of Child of Eden. The VR version of REZ is fantastic; it's so good that it feels like the game was made for it.
Related note... Anyone know a mailing list builder alternative? I don't mind paying, but to enable this feature costs ~£100 a year, and as a small-time creative that's gonna eat into my budget when I'm actively looking for things to cut back
"helpfully" they did this without telling anyone (at least they didn't tell me!) so I didn't know until I had to check today after hearing back from some signups
PSA: If you use MailChimp. They've REMOVED the ability for free users to send a receipt email when people sign up for a mailing list. This basically makes the service near-useless for non-paying users, as most people encourage mailing list signups using some sort of freebie; can't do that now.

Absolutely. Loved the Game Gear.
I thought Jacinto was great, and it actually really sold me on him as a versatile actor, and not just that guy I loved from The Good Place. Honestly I couldn't fault anyone's performance. I felt the show's issues were in the writing and production design.
I felt the show, on-paper, had a goal - to show Jedi in a new light - a group of dogmatic, self-important, child-stealing religious fanatics that most people see as somewhere between unpredictable heroes and a dangerous, powerful cult. But Disney shit-a-brick at the idea of making Jedi the villains.
I watched it ages ago so this won't be an exact quote: "The Jedi have cultivated an air of invincibility, but this is a lie. This is a dream. I will train you, Acolyte, and you will kill a Jedi with your bare hands. You will show people the truth. You will kill the lie. You will kill the dream."
So The Acolyte... Wasn't great. Some great fight scenes, and I really liked the premise, but honestly the show left me really cold. But this is a good take. Jacinto was great, and his character's goal was cool:

He has that 1:56-scale hand-modeled hand-painted version of the Battle of Agincourt he made in his spare bedroom

This whole "wishing ill" fiasco is *bizarre*. I mean, okay, sites have to react if a person makes an actionable threat against another. They'd probably get shut down if they didn't. But "I wish ill" is, at worst, *vague disapproval*. No revolution started with the rallying cry of "I wish ill".

I worked for a videogame retailer around the PS2's launch and first Christmas, and I strongly remember that when we closed at 4pm on September 25th, the sole PS2 game we had remaining in the entire store was 1 copy of this.
Personally I preferred the TNG years, like that one where Riker has a relationship with a person with a nonconformist gender identity or that one where Data lets his child choose its own gender. Not all this modern-day *woke-Trek*

Fun fact - if you're from the UK and dislike this game, your opinion of it *might* be affected by its PAL conversion. The game in the US already had questionable performance, so the slower PAL version is even worse. I hated it for years, then I tried a USA ROM and really enjoyed it

I remember seeing this on TV! 🤣 That said, it's a fair observation but slightly loaded. I was a Game Gear owner and used it all the time, with a wall adaptor, a car adaptor & a set of rechargeable batteries. Main thing was that you didn't want to run a GG on Alkaline batteries if you could avoid it

It's SUCH a good movie. It even has its roots in a *real* historical issue which also went over my head as a kid that I only recently found out about - that LA had one of the best public transit systems in the world, that was assassinated by a consortium of road builders and car manufacturers

I absolutely LOVED this game. It was part of a wave of big novelty arcade machines; this one had a near-full-size jetski. My local arcade had it, and I used to play it every time I passed. I could consistently "finish" both courses in 1st place/within the timer. Freakin' loved it.
