Starbucks tells us they aim to βchallenge the status quo.β But under CEO Brian Niccol, the company not only rejects worker feedback, but has failed to resolve tons of outstanding legal issues for union-busting. New Hampshire baristas took action and spoke up!

I believe it's units per half hour or hour (when a shift looks up the day's transaction info, it's measured in half hour increments).
I'm not sure if it's the same as it was 10 years ago, but we still measure UPH. One of the stores in the area has a record of 114 UPH (and we were scoping them out to try and unionize, but i haven't gotten any info back).

Depending on how well they're maintained (which probably isn't that well in most stores) and serviced, they can be great machines or complete burdens. We've named ours Regina and Gretchen because they're mean girls. π

With the Vertica, the INTENTION was to brew directly into the traveler container... but the funnel sits at an angle and it ends up spilling everywhere. Also, it looks and sounds like a spaceship. π
It's also fun getting random mobile order travelers. π« They're easier with the Vertica brewers we have now, but it really throws things for a loop.
I'm located in a college town and I think that may be why we have multiple peaks. There's a morning peak followed by a lull (so we can furiously clean and make backups) and THEN we get into an afternoon peak of sorts. Lots of cold bar drinks & snacks...on top of deliveries, mobiles, & cafe orders.
Yup. Sometimes that can include warming if the ovens are in close enough proximity to DT. π₯²
....and yet /somehow/ they cannot afford to properly staff stores or pay the partners that bust their asses every single day. this is why i'm a union member. i want to see this change in a positive way for us because we deserve that. #SBWU #UnionStrong πͺπ»β€οΈ
i've been with sbux off and on since 2015, and the two to three part shift is way more common now. sometimes my store will have the bar partner also do DTO/DTR. in the morning/evening it's usually fine, but in the AFTERNOON?? insane.
writing on cups USED to be fun, but it was only because i would do it when i genuinely wanted to! what REALLY sucks is that if /we/ don't write on cups, the barista AND the shift supervisor on the floor get written up! freaking insanity.
