For #ColorADay and #GreenSat here's a closeup of Gambel oak (Quercus gambelii) in a little canyon in southern Utah. Even with 100 degree days and no real rain since late spring, there's still greenery to be found.

The ones eroding out of the rock in the photo are generally about 3" in their longest dimension. In this little drainage I saw fossils ranging from less than 1/2" up to a whopper that was around 5" in length.
