Well, they'll probably never get more than 20 feet from their vehicle, so I don't get to push any of them into the bottom of a canyon. Somehow that doesn't seem fair.

For #ColorADay and #GreenSat here's a closeup of Gambel oak (Quercus gambelii) in a little canyon in southern Utah. Even with 100 degree days and no real rain since late spring, there's still greenery to be found.
This is just off Cottonwood Canyon Rd. Definitely impassable when wet!
The ones eroding out of the rock in the photo are generally about 3" in their longest dimension. In this little drainage I saw fossils ranging from less than 1/2" up to a whopper that was around 5" in length.
