More than anything else, it was the internet’s corrosion of professional journalism that brought us to this point.
Cathode Ray Zone (@cathoderayzone.bsky.social)
Left wing podcasters, former professional journos turned substackers, and self-appointed “citizen journalists” grift their audiences just like Fox and OANN grift theirs. There is no longer any place to receive reliable information and analysis. And without it, democracy can’t function.

Hip hop is 52 years old. At a back-to-school party in the Bronx in 1973, Jamaican-American deejay Kool Herc introduced the technique of playing the same album on two turntables and extending the drum section, which became known as the breakbeat. 🧵⬇️

The day of the wedding, I had to be down in the kitchens at the venue in the morning, then race back to the house, put on a suit, marry them, and then change back, go back to the venue, and get everything finished and ready before 150 people showed up. 😂

Definitions by nature are exclusionary. This is why for many (perhaps, most) terms, the best one can offer is an analysis in terms of family resemblances.
Cathode Ray Zone (@cathoderayzone.bsky.social) reply parent
