Our system is structured such that states still have power. Governors have to be willing to use it. It's a lot easier for governors and federal judges to fight Trump than it is for you or I. If that fails, then what can the people do? No one wants to say it or really even knows.
A federal judge just ruled against him regarding military in the streets. It's a clear violation of Posse Comitatus, as I said months ago. They've yet to respond to that. They've yet to send troops to Chicago. Pritzker has already ordered state & local police not to help them. Let's see how it goes.
Furthermore, we must always take elections seriously. If we don't, they have already won. Whenever people say that the next election is pointless, I ask them what they want, what are they willing to do instead. Because the only other option is to fight, and they never say they are ready for that.

The judges are the only ones keeping Trump in check, and as long as the cases don't get kicked up to his Supreme Court, there's little he can do about it (other than a military coup, that is).
We only talk about gun control when there's a mass shooting, esp. when kids are involved & then we talk about banning assault weapons. Fine. But the majority of gun deaths come from murders & suicides with handguns. Other countries have less crime because they have far fewer guns in circulation.
