We agitate and take direct action when possible. Dissent is already having a good effect. Working to elect decent people is valuable of course. But it’s not and shouldn’t be the only thing we do in an emergency. Join a progressive group, do local politics, etc.
I agree that this is a positive aspect of it. I do fear that the media hype that has surrounded presidential contests for decades would fail to convey the issues behind our emergency.
I love it when someone disagrees with me, offering clear and rational counter-arguments. On the other hand there are people who say I’m dumb and tell me to read a book.
