California, Oregon and Washington announced yesterday they’ve created their own health alliance, saying the CDC has become “a political tool that increasingly peddles ideology instead of science.” New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island have now done the same.

Look at this graph. The share of national income going to the richest 10 percent was lowest (and share to lower 90 percent highest) when union membership was at its highest. As unions have weakened, inequality has widened. This is why we must build back union power.

Honestly, greed doesn’t self-regulate, it just hoards. We put income caps on disabled people to keep them in poverty, why not flip that logic and cap obscene wealth? A wealth cap, limits on assets, a ceiling on how much one person can pile up. Nobody needs billions.
