The new documentary about hurricane Katrina on Netflix (Katrina: Come Hell and High Water) should be mandatory viewing for seniors in US high schools. I’d bet good money most people in the US have no real idea what happened or what the fall out has been.
"Katrina: Come Hell and High Water" has some beautiful New Orleanians and Louisianans in it. The kind of people who will talk about the most serious shit while cracking bitter jokes.

Watching “Katrina come hell and high water”. I’m filled with rage every time they show Chernoff and “heckuva job Brownie” on screen. For what the president didn’t do. For the turning of the military on the American people. For the media calling Black people “thugs” just for getting food/water.
Every person, without exception, who claims they voted for King asshole “because of the economy” is lying. All of them. Not a single person voted for that criminal asswipe because of the economy. They voted for him because they wanted team white man to win and be in charge. That’s it.
